Which Phone?
By Mark Flippo
OK be kind. Which phone was my family's original phone? The left one. It was a party line. For you that do not know what that is, each home had its own phone number but you shared the phone line itself. When another home that used the same line had someone talking on it you could not call out or recieve calls. Of course you could hear them talking and they could listen in on your conversation. Strange today's standard but common back in the 50s. You know when every TV was black and white. No matter our age we all have some of the same things in common.
We like to talk. I am not always sure it is progress! With texting it seems that we no longer have to spell things right. It can be a confusing world.
We talk all the time but don't touch people's hearts! Have our hearts and minds become calloused? Maybe it is just easier? Perhaps texting keeps us from truly communicating? It is easy to cut someone off. No fuss no muss! It means easy.
Maybe we need to turn off our cell phones and learn to be with people. Would you want Jesus to just text when He wants to? Give your phone a vacation. Like an old phone company saying "Reach out and touch someone" this time by touch! Love and Prayers, Mark.
