The Unusual Road
By Mark Flippo
Matthew Chapter 21
8-And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9-And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
This is the first time it is recorded that they threw down garments and palms for Him to ride in to Jerusalem on! All represented Peace. When anyone of power rode into your city you knew by what they were riding as to if it was peace or war. Horses meant war. Donkeys meant peace! They knew peace would follow this man they had heard about. Jesus brought deliverance to they sick and tormented. They misunderstood that the peace was not deliverance from Rome but of their hearts. Their minds were so bound by tradition that they could not see clearly. Is your mind bound by tradition as well? Can you see God's deliverance for you and your family? Do you trust Him to keep you in the upcoming turmoil? Forget your problems of the past. Focus on being ready with the help of the almighty. He can take us through war and famine and military oppression!
