Can You Imagine?
By Mark Flippo
Li Ching-Yuen or Li Ching-Yun died on 6 May 1933 in Kai Xian, Sichuan, Republic of China and was survived by his 24th wife, a woman of 60 years. Li supposedly produced over 200 descendants during his life span, surviving 23 wives. Though other sources credit him with 180 descendants, over 11 generations, living at the time of his death and 14 marriages. He died at 256 years of age.
Can you imagine if you lived this long how much you could accomplish for the kingdom of God? You could raise up your own congregation. With that kind of aging would come a great responsibility of teaching them Truth. Your children could be a credit to you or a chain to drag you down. Look at how many people grieve over their children as it is. They can hurt you deeply. All we can do is pray for them when they are young and continue praying even as they age.
Have you given the years you have lived to Jesus Christ to be pleased with? Have you taught your children to respect and honor the Lord God Almighty. Have you taught them how to pray? Do they understand how important it is to pray daily? When you give all of yourself to our Savior it will not matter how long you live. You can live with purpose and dignity leading others to a Father who is greater than you. Lift the name of Jesus higher so that all may see who you worship!!!
