Don't Get Carried Away!
By Mark Flippo
Judges 16:3 Samson was in bed with the woman until midnight. Then he got up, seized the doors of the city gate and the two gateposts, bolts and all, hefted them on his shoulder, and carried them to the top of the hill that faces Hebron.
This is an unusual history lesson. Anyone who plays sports knows no adult playtime before a game. Samson did not seem to have that problem. It does make a difference that He was called by God to do a very specific work. He was blessed by God and was given a gift to do his work! Just because you are called by God does not mean everything you do is justifiable! People are carnal! Just before he carried away the gates, he was committing fornication.
God still allowed him to have that strength. Please do not set your leaders up for failure! They are all human. They will make mistakes. Make sure you leave plenty of room for forgiveness! We all need to be forgiven of our mistakes! In Samson's eyes the only way he could redeem himself was to surrender his life! No matter what you have done, you do not have to surrender your life!!!!
