Giving All
By Mark Flippo
Mark-Chapter:12
42-And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43-And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44-For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
This is not about giving money to God's house even though it is necessary to keep the lights on, it is about attitude! When you give is it convenient? Do you have money in the bank? Do you have enough food to keep your belly satisfied? If these things are the case you may not understand giving when it is the money you were going to buy food with! All you have in the world is whatever change is in your pocket or purse. Would you give that up if God asked you to? Which is more important to you.
Trusting in the things of this world or Trusting in God to provide? I know it is an unfair question. Living for Jesus has nothing to do with fairness. He sometimes calls us to Sacrifice! Americans, we do not like that word. We are so spoiled with all that we have that our things control us! They have become weights that we hold onto even if they are drowning us. Please take or make time to pray and ask God to show you what you need to do to give until it hurts. Jesus help us to understand the sacrifice that widow gave! Help our attitudes to be more humble before you.
