Passing Prayer On To The Next Generation!
By Mark Flippo
Nothing is more important than teaching our children how to pray. No matter what your belief is you want them to know God in a special way. Teaching them to have a personal relationship is critical for them to have a strong and right development. I do not care if you are Baptist, Assembly of God, Catholic, Methodist. Pentecostal, Lutheran or whatever. Whatever your understanding is, teach your children to pray and develop their own personal relationship with God Himself! Stop letting titles decide what you teach your child about God. Give them to God as children and trust Him to take care of them and let Him show Himself to them in a real way. Do not discourage them from seeking out God for themselves. When I was a child before my family went to bed at night, we would recite Psalms chapter 23. Every night our parents were faithful to kneel with us and teach us that Jesus is real and He does hear you when you pray. This has kept me all these years having a foundation of prayer under me. My understanding has grown. When I received His Spirit inside me, it began a much faster process of learning about Him. Never stop praying for your children, they are never to old to learn about God in their own special way. God Bless and Keep you and allow Him to continually open your understanding to His Word!
