The Fourth And Final Fail
By Mark Flippo
Amos Chapter 2
1-Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:
4-Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:
6-Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;
9-Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
Three times He mentions three groups of people. They all followed the same downhill path. Each was destroyed because of it. I don't ever remember reading this passage for a long time. I had forgotten it. There was a religion that we were a part of at one time. They had the same thing said to them in a message in tongues and interpretation. He told them He had come to their organization three times before and this was their last time. They chose not to follow God and He removed His blessing from them. Individuals were blessed but the organization died. There were several million at one time. Their number is in a steady decline. It was sad you could see His judgement fall. No matter who you are or what you believe about judgement, it will fall on you and numbers do not make a difference!! God will keep His Word! Listen up world your numbers mean nothing to an all powerful God!
