Eminent Explosion!
By Marian Flippo
The woman's name is Mercedes Talamantes. She has a 132 lbs tumor! The huge 132 lb tumour the largest ovarian growth ever was removed. Surgeons spent four hours operating on Ms Talamante, who almost doubled in weight when the tumour grew. Ms Talamante, 51, had become depressed because of her appearance and thought she had put on the weight because she was aging, but her daughter, Maria, convinced her she was sick. The ovarian tumour grew for five years until it was almost half of her total body weight, with the Mexican woman barely able to move for the last 24 months. Dr Gilberto Inzulza led the surgical team who successfully removed the tumour.
The lady above is like most of us, we have the ability of procrastinating or deferring action to a situation, especially when the circumstance requires immediate attention. We fool ourselves in thinking, everything will be okay! We can always take care of it tomorrow. We are like the little child who holds its hands over its eyes believing that no one can see them. Remember, when there is a hill to climb, don’t think that waiting will make it smaller.
As Christians, we must never put off in God what we can do today. Our life needs immediate attention. You are the only person that holds the power when it comes to turning your life over to God. This is not a situation to be put off, but to be cherished and worked on daily.
Don't let your life be like this poem, “Procrastination is my sin. It brings me naught but sorrow. I know that I should stop it. In fact, I will – tomorrow!”
Mercedes was fortunate that her tumor could be removed. But we dare not avoid handling situations concerning our spiritual life. If you don't, it may grow so out of proportion, that it may never be removed or worse could explode! The best preparation for tomorrow is taking immediate action today. Lord, help us not to procrastinate but always trust in you daily!
